Planning Coordinator

The planning coordinator is responsible for customer service, order servicing, production planning, material procurement and inventory management of customer’s finished good products and/or supplier’s raw materials. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet the demands of the customer's on-time delivery requirements and achieve the plants assigned goals.
  • Timely response and resolution to customer and field complaints, including root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Exercise customer service, production planning, purchasing, logistics and inventory management techniques to:
    • consistently support the on-time manufacturing of products to maintain designated product inventory levels,
    • minimize recoverable assets 
    • support the on-time delivery of products to end Customers. 

The coordinator operates in a customer-focused environment with considerable interaction with Sales, Technical, Production, Quality Assurance, Distribution, Purchasing and the Field at various levels in the organization. This role must be a skillful communicator that provides relevant customer service and supply chain information to various customers, both internal and external, in a timely manner.  The coordinator is responsible for supporting a number of customer plant accounts and/ or supplier accounts and therefore must be able to multi-task a number of customer planning activities throughout the day.  The planning coordinator reports directly the Manager of Customer Planning.
 
Required Experience:
  • 4 year college degree in Supply Chain, Operations Planning, or related field is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of proven success in customer service, material procurement or operations planning  
  • APICS Certification desired.
 
The Ideal candidate will possess: 
  • Good understanding of the functions within the Customer Planning department, including customer service forecasting, production planning, purchasing, logistics and inventory management techniques.
  • Business knowledge of how other departments operate that frequently interact with Customer Planning (Sales, Technical, Production, Quality Assurance, Distribution, Purchasing and the Field)
  • Oracle or SAP experience preferred, such as Oracle Order Servicing, Oracle Production Planning, Oracle Purchasing, Inventory Management, BI, or OTM.
  • User knowledge of Oracle BI and/ or Microsoft Office applications to support their daily work responsibilities and to help improve the productivity and the Customer Planning team’s ability to solve supply chain problems.
  • Data analytics capability is highly desired.
